# Google Analytics 4

<Card title="Connection Info">
  * The Google Analytics 4 Audience Connection is an **Audience Signal and Cloud connection**. This means it syncs audience segments to your GA4 property, where they become available for targeting in linked Google Ads accounts.
</Card>

This connection combines Innkeepr's incremental prediction models with Google's native audience infrastructure. This allows you to sync Audience Signals from Innkeepr to GA4 so that you can target high-value users in Performance Max and other Google Ads campaigns. Audiences sync automatically to your GA4 property and flow through to any linked Google Ads accounts.

## Getting Started

1. From your workspace's /connections page, click **add connection**.
2. Choose **Google Analytics 4**.
3. Click **Create** and **Continue** then Connect to OAuth into Google.
4. Select which properties you would like to sync (you may change this selection later).
5. Select your Property ID from the dropdown.
6. Enter your Measurement ID (e.g., `G-XXXXXXXXXX`).
7. Enter your **API Secret** for the Measurement Protocol.
8. Click **Verify** to confirm Google Signals is activated on your property.
9. Click **Finish**.

## How Innkeepr Syncs Audiences

Innkeepr syncs audience signals to GA4 automatically based on audience type:
Audience Type	Sync Frequency

| Audience Type         | Sync Frequency |
| :-------------------- | :------------- |
| Seed Audiences        | Every 3 days   |
| Exclusion Audiences   | Daily          |
| Retargeting Audiences | Daily          |

When Innkeepr syncs an audience to GA4:

* **New users** matching the audience criteria are added to the GA4 audience
* **Users who no longer qualify** are removed on the next sync cycle
* **Audience membership** is determined by Innkeepr's treatment effect models at each sync interval

Audiences created by Innkeepr appear in GA4 with the following naming convention:
`[Innkeepr] <audience_name> (<audience_type>)`

For example:

`[Innkeepr] High-Value Prospects (Seed)`<br />
`[Innkeepr] Recent Converters (Exclusion)`<br />
`[Innkeepr] Cart Abandoners (Retargeting)`

Upon subsequent syncs, Innkeepr updates only users whose audience membership has changed—users who newly qualify are added, and users who no longer qualify are removed.
